We were excited to be part of the recent Purposeful CEO Summit and Purpose In Action events, by our partner, Humanity In Business.

The Purposeful CEO Summit was a day of inspiring stories and deeper discussions on great leaders who are leading employee engagement by helping employees find meaning in the workplace. Here are some takeaways from the day, courtesy of Julie Alexander from Changing Change International.

Cross-sector collaborations are increasingly being recognised as an important way forward — to achieve increased impact, to embed purpose more deeply in an organisation, to help create meaning and engagement for employees. Purpose In Action put this to the test with a huge facilitated, design thinking experience that seeks to improve collaboration between business and NPFs in the mental health sector. Participants learned how to create a better employee experience in the workplace by improving employee well being and engagement, and gained clarity on how their volunteering or financial contribution to the mental health sector could be leveraged to make a bigger impact.

Lyndal Stuart from Good2Give, shares her 5 key learnings from the day:

  • It starts at the top
  • Involve everyone
  • Align purpose and culture across all recruitment and alliance policies and practices
  • Keep your finger on the pulse
  • Continuously improve
